Keswick Island Art Trail

This outdoor ephemeral exhibition showcased the works of nine senior, mid-career and emerging artists from Keswick Island off the coast of Mackay. As part of the Mackay Festival of Arts 2022, the artworks were on display from the launch on 31 July to 30 September and I was the Arts Director for the project.

I completed my installation of “Shipwrecked” in July 2022 on Basil Bay beach in memory of shipwrecks in and around Keswick and St Bees Islands. I was also involved in the making of “Flowers of the Sea” during Lalune Croker’s community workshop.

I’ve used organic materials found in nature. The cross is symbolic of all the lives that were lost in these shipwrecks.
