Art and creativity are, and always will be, my first passion. I love working in Tiger Blue Art Den on Keswick Island in the Whitsundays.

Artist Statement:
“Layers of memories, drawings & textures inform my art practice. I am fortunate to live near the coast & I continue to explore it each day.  My local environment is the stimulant for a variety of media including painting, drawing, environmental sculpture, printmaking, craft, teaching & mentoring.”

Art is a major factor in my life, and I involve myself in every aspect from creating my own works to teaching, organising and planning exhibitions and events in collaboration with others. I have been privileged to be involved in solo and group exhibitions in the Brisbane, Mackay, Townsville and coalfields region. I have also been an active participant in public art projects such as the Mackay Festival of Arts, Mackay City Heart sculptures, Murals, Laneway Paste-ups, and more.

I was fortunate to receive professional development training in the areas Tourism and Art and Museum Management while employed in Local Government. This gave me the confidence to open a small commercial art gallery on the tourist trail from Mackay to Eungella. Gargett Gallery went on to win a number of awards due to its continued success over 8 years.

I now co-reside in Mackay city and beautiful off-shore Keswick island, and actively involve myself in both communities. I enjoy yoga and exploring new destinations. Fossicking and finding natural materials on the beach at Keswick Island has been an inspiration to pursue the challenge of creating sculptures using driftwood, shells and beeswax.

I welcome collaborating, coordinating and working with artists on creative projects. Feel free to view my CV here »
