As well as working in her studios, Lesley enjoys organising, managing, and participating in a variety of workshops and public art projects. She is always experimenting with new and exciting materials—ephemeral, as well as the more traditional variety.

Hello!

I’m

LESLEY

KANE

Artisan. Mentor. Projects.

Art is and always will be my first passion, and I love working in my studio, the Tiger Blue Art Den, on Keswick Island in the Whitsundays.

About me

Artisan and mentor with a passion for artistic community projects.

My life revolves around art: solo and community-based, and I also enjoy travelling. I have been privileged to be involved in many group and solo exhibitions since 2000, and sit on various arts and tourism committees in the Mackay and the coalfields region.

My expertise has expanded to managing and assisting in public projects like the Mackay Festival of Art, murals, paste-ups, pole painting, Strand Ephemera and more at distinctive locations in the region like Artspace Mackay, MECC, CQU Gallery, Museum of Tropical North Queensland and many more. See my community projects page for more information »

My first art gallery was the multi-award winning Gargett Gallery which closed in 2012, when we built a new home on Keswick Island. Now I co-reside in Mackay city and beautiful off-shore Keswick Island. If you have a special project in mind, I would love to hear from you.
